About this role

We're hiring the person who will build Refold AI's engineering-hiring machine, not run a req queue.

Talent density is our biggest advantage, and our Bangalore engineering team is where Refold AI gets built. Right now every great eng hire still runs through the founders. You'll change that. You'll own how we find, assess, and close A-player engineers across backend, AI, and infra, and build the process, bar, and employer brand that lets us scale the team without lowering it.

This is a 0-to-1 function and one of the most important hires we'll make. The people you bring in define Refold AI's culture, so this role reaches far beyond filling seats: you'll set the hiring bar, stand up our people and hiring policies from scratch, and shape the DNA of the company as we scale.

What you'll do

• Own full-cycle technical recruiting end-to-end, from role scoping and sourcing to offer and close, across backend, AI/ML, and infra roles.
• Partner directly with the founders, CTO, and CPO to define scorecards, interview loops, and the bar for each engineering role.
• Build a repeatable, high-signal hiring process: sourcing channels, structured technical interviews, funnel metrics, and fast feedback loops.
• Run the closing conversation: understand what drives each engineer and win them in a competitive market.
• Build Refold AI's engineering employer brand across LinkedIn, communities, events, and referrals.
• Lay the foundation (and eventually the team) that scales technical hiring for years.
• Shape culture and set the foundations: define the hiring bar and interview standards, stand up our people and hiring policies from scratch, and protect Refold AI's culture through every person you bring in.

What we're looking for

• 5-6+ years in technical recruiting, most of it at seed or Series A startups, owning engineering roles end to end. Early-stage experience is the single most important thing we're looking for: you know how to hire when there's no big brand or comp to lean on.
• A track record hiring strong backend, AI/ML, or infra engineers: you understand the talent and can hold a real bar.
